Backpacking Equipment List
The following is a suggested equipment list for personal use while on a group backpacking outing. It is designed for three-season camping in areas with available water. Add a cooking stove and pots if you are not traveling with a group. Be prepared for unexpected weather and a longer stay than you planned.

internal or external frame backpack (4500cc +)
waterproof pack cover
three-season tent
down sleeping bag (rated 15 to 20 degrees F)
sleeping pad
trekking poles
waterproof matches
eating utensil, bowl, and insulated mug
headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries and bulb
32 oz. water bottles (2)
water treatment (filter, tablets, or drops)
pocket knife or small multitool
compass
sunglasses
small first aid kit with personal medications

mesh head net
personal toiletries
‘Camp Suds’ or other biodegradable soap
sunscreen (SPF 15+)
lip balm (SPF 15)

I think this list contains all the sufficient things that are important for tracking as well..
One thing i would ask to you about a comparision of backpack and slinge if you have any personal experience of both of these..
